My 10 Grocery Must Haves

A list of the top 10 foods that always land in my grocery cart, and how I use them.

1. Oatmeal

I've been obsessed with oatmeal lately. I know people hate it, but adding some berries and some flavored protein powder makes it really yummy! My power oats fill me up and taste so good! I'll even put a little bit of greek yogurt for some extra protein.

2. Fresh Greens

I literally eat a big green salad every day! I'll fill it with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and my choice of protein. I usually go for the organic spring mix container because I think they stay fresh longer and it's already washed and ready to eat! As for dressing, I'll add mustard with a drizzle of lite balsamic vinegar dressing.

3. Baby Carrots

Baby carrots are my jam! They're my go-to snack when I want something crunchy. I’ll snack on them through out the day or dip them in some hummus. I love the crunch.

4. Pickles

Who else loves pickles? I don't know what it is about pickles but I'll add these in with my salads or just eat a pickle straight up. Ya, weird, I know.

5. Fresh Fruit

Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas.. all so good! I'll add them in to my oatmeal, yogurt or salads! My sweet tooth is always satisfied with some fresh fruit!

6. Tuna

Tuna is my savior when the week gets crazy. Sometimes I don't have time to cook food so I'll open up a can of tuna and instead of mayo I'll add mustard. Try it if you haven't! Onions, celery, cucumbers and salt and pepper. Perfect tuna mix to add to salads, celery, or rice cakes.

7. Tortillas

If you know me, this isn't a surprise. I love anything wrapped in a tortilla. Chicken, beef, eggs with any veggies and the tortilla will seal the deal, literally. I usually get the low carb whole wheat tortillas because I can't stop at one.

8. Rice cakes

Prepare for your life to be changed. These sweet & spicy chili rice crisps are AMAZING! Go get you some. I'll eat these with my tuna for a snack.

9. Spaghetti squash

Ever since I discovered the instant pot, spaghetti squash has been so easy to make. Now it takes 15 minutes to cook verses the usual hour and fifteen in the oven. I'll add some marinara sauce and protein and BAM, such a good healthy meal.

10. Sweet Potato

Roasted sweet potatoes are always a treat. I'll cut them up thinly, drizzle olive oil and garlic salt on top, bake at 375 for 45 min. Great addition to any protein and veggies dish for some extra nutritious carbs.

Hope these gave you some ideas for your next grocery trip! So I want to hear from you, what are your top foods that ALWAYS make it in your grocery cart?
