6 Habits That are Making you Fat
Updated: Nov 13, 2018
Loosing weight can be challenging! These are the top 6 habits that contribute to a larger waist line:
1. Artificial Sweeteners:
Fake sugars do not satisfy your cravings! If you over do it, these sugars can cause even more cravings because your body's sweet cravings are not satisfied . Read your labels because they are snuck in to almost all our foods! Watch out for sucrose, maltodextrin, and aspartame. Keep everything in moderation.
2. Low Fat Labels:
Since the "cut down on fat” food craze began about 30 years ago, the obesity rate in America has more than doubled. “Fat-free” does not mean low in calories OR low in sugar. People who see low fat also give themselves the green light to eat more of that food. Check the labels for sugar next time you purchase low-fat.
3. Multitasking while Eating:
Eating while watching TV, playing video games, doing homework etc. is a distraction. These habits take the focus off the food and make you more likely to overeat without realizing it. Block out time to eat, enjoy eat bite, love on the nutritious food you're eating.
4. Eating Straight out of the Package:
It’s impossible to gauge serving sizes when you eat straight out of a family sized bag. Try single serving packages or taking only the recommended serving size.
5. Lack of Sleep
Rest and recovery are overlooked! Thats where the gains (good gains) are made! Set a bed time if you need to. 6-7 hours of sleep is a minimum.
6. High Stress
Cortisol is directly correlated to weight gain. Take 30 min, heck even 20 min, to center and breath if you find yourself stressed. Inhale for 5 seconds and exhale for 10. Repeat 10 times.
